The content you consume affects the business decisions you make. Which is why I recommend every MSP listens to these 3 business books.
One of my worst habits is occasionally biting my nails (come on, we all do it).
One of my best habits is constantly listening to business books. I used to read loads; now I’ll check them out on Audible and then if it blows me away, get the paper copy.
Here are three business books I wish every MSP would listen to.
The Ultimate Sales Machine
by Chet Holmes
You absolutely 100% need to listen to this one. It's not about building a sales machine in an MSP, but it could be.
The author, who sadly died from leukaemia aged just 55, was a true B2B sales master. There are so many good ideas in this book. It's one of those you should read with a notebook in hand, to highlight every idea you want to implement.
Unstoppable Referrals: 10x Referrals Half the Effort
by Steve Gordon
LOVE this book. It's the clever way to get more referrals from your existing clients, without any of the social awkwardness and risk of asking outright for referrals. The author suggests you instead put together a referral kit.
Inside my MSP Marketing Edge service, we give our members a book called Email Hijack that they can brand as their own. It’s perfect for this purpose.
Retention Point
by Robert Skrob
I know MSPs have insane retention anyway. But it never hurts to really study the most important elements of your business; and retention surely is one of those.
The author explores an interesting idea... what if retaining customers has as much to do with how you lead them and educate them, as it does with the quality of your service? That would explain why strategic reviews and technology roadmaps are so important.
