Give your family the gift of “more you” in 2025

If you're still working 60 hours a week, you can't fix that by working harder. Try this instead in 2025

Happy Christmas for yesterday. Did you have a fun one?

Let me give you something to think about on your Boxing Day walk (a holiday tradition here in the UK)... starting with a big question.

Why did you start your MSP in the first place?

Chances are, it wasn’t just because you enjoyed fixing technology. Maybe you had bigger dreams:

  • Freedom to do the work you wanted to do in the way you wanted it to be done
  • Flexibility to spend more time with the people who matter most
  • Control over your income and your time

But fast forward to today… how close are you to living that dream?

For many MSP owners, running the business can feel like the complete opposite of freedom. Instead of having more time, you have less. Instead of less stress, you carry it all.

Is this your story?

You started as a one person powerhouse, wearing every hat – sales, support, billing, and everything in between. That worked… for a while.

Then the late nights kicked in. Weekends disappeared. Your phone buzzed most evenings with "urgent" support requests. And somewhere along the way, your family stopped expecting you at the dinner table.

🙁

"It’s temporary," you told yourself. "Just until I hire someone."

And you did. But instead of finding relief, you discovered a new kind of pressure:

  • Training staff
  • Answering endless questions
  • Fixing mistakes you didn’t make

Suddenly, you were working more, not less. And your dreams from when you started the business? They felt like a distant memory.

If you are still at that stage, you can't fix it by working harder

Because here’s the thing… if your MSP can’t survive without you being there every day, you don't really have a business. You still have a job.

And there's only so long any human can keep up that pace of work. Yes, even you!

So, your goal should be to create a business that thrives regardless of whether you are there or not.

Yes, it takes years to achieve this. But it is absolutely possible for every single MSP on the planet.

Where to start? I have a clear opinion on that.

No, it’s not improving your tech stack. Nor is it improving your cyber security knowledge

You do those things on the journey.

The starting point is this: You get so good at marketing your MSP, it wins a new client every month.

Because when you can do that, everything else will follow.

Winning new clients regularly means you must get proficient and efficient at onboarding, delivering projects, hiring, managing, training, coaching, upselling, and a ton of other skills.

Marketing doesn’t just bring in new clients. It gives you the power to design a business that serves you – not the other way around.

And over time, you’ll see:

  • Your time becoming your own again
  • More money in your bank account
  • And your family enjoying more of you

But remember, it all starts with improving your marketing. I can help you with my MSP Marketing Edge.
